In 16 Blocks, aging and alcoholic NYPD detective Jack Mosley (Bruce Willis) is assigned the seemingly simple task of escorting petty criminal Eddie Bunker (Mos Def) from police custody to a courthouse 16 blocks away, where Eddie is scheduled to testify before a grand jury. What appears to be a routine assignment quickly escalates into a dangerous ordeal as corrupt officers, led by Jack’s former partner Frank Nugent (David Morse), attempt to prevent Eddie from testifying, fearing exposure of their own misconduct. Jack must confront his own past mistakes and find redemption as he strives to protect Eddie and ensure his safe arrival at the courthouse.
